I'm a Florida native, growing up in the Tampa Bay area and attending college at Florida State University majoring in Studio Art. My dad was the artist of the family, always teaching my sister and me different techniques and mediums. But it was my mom’s 1970s Olympus OM-1 camera that started my photography journey. My first trip to Washington, DC wasn’t the best time to learn how to use an SLR camera, but the blurry, dark, and out of focus prints didn’t dissuade me from continuing my desire to learn photography. Since then I have always had a camera in hand.

I graduated in 2008 from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s in Studio Art, intending to follow my passion for photography and make it into a career. Photographing outside is where you’ll find me most often because it gives me a chance to slow down and enjoy the natural world. But I’m no stranger to portraits, having photographed weddings, to maternity, or newborn sessions.

Of course, life happened and things changed, and photography isn’t exactly my career. I’m now an elementary art teacher where I get to integrate my photography into art lessons to teach art content to my students.
